Once someone completes a program I would like a system generated certificate to be available to print which outlines all the courses they completed to obtain certification for that program.
Hi Juliana Marciniak. I was not able to find a feature idea for this so I would encourage you to create one using How do I create a new feature idea in the Bridge Community? as a guide.
You can turn on an option for a program completion certificate, but the certificate wont list all of the courses that were in the program.
For another consideration, you could use SCORM to work around this by creating a certificate as the last "course" that will list all of the courses and still put their name and date, etc. on the certificate and allow them to print it out. Then if you set the program to be done in order, it will make it so they cannot have the certificate until they get passing scores on everything else.
Joshua Pope have you enabled certificates after some users have completed the training? If so, do you know what happens to folks who had completed the training before the certificates were turned on?
With most settings, the time of enrollment determines whether or not that setting will apply to the learner. For example, if I enroll Learner A before a due date is set, and Learner B after a due date is set, the due date will only apply to Learner B.
Certificates are an exception to this behavior. If Certificates are turned on for a course or program, it will apply across the board for anyone that has participated in the course. So, again, if Learner A is enrolled (and possibly completes) before certificates are turned on and Learner B is enrolled after certificates are turned on, Learners A and B will both receive a certificate for the course now that the certificate setting is turned on.
This is reassuring! Thank you Joshua. We did a testing on this and it agreed with what you said. I wanted to see if this is a well documented behavior since most settings are grandfathered and this one is different. It's good though!
This is something that would be of value to our organization, as well. We would prefer to give certificates for Program Completion that individual course completion.
I just want to make sure it's clear, Vera, that you CAN have a certificate for program completion rather than a certificate for each course in a program. What doesn't exist today is the ability to have the certificate list all of the courses that were completed as part of the program.
